What is a "Boomer Camp?"

Bill Boomer has been a consultant to perennial NCAA champions at Stanford, Auburn, University of Texas, University of Tennessee and other fine Division I schools. He was the stroke technician for the 2000 U.S. Olympic Swim Team and has worked with a number of World Olympic Teams.

Boomer is the driving force behind modern swimming technique, having incredible insights into how people swim and the best way to get them to move faster.

Bill Boomer teaches cooperating with the water instead of fighting it.

IF YOU BELIEVE THAT SIGNIFICANT SWIM IMPROVEMENT IS RELATED TO SIGNIFICANT TECHNIQUE/TECHNICAL IMPROVEMENT, THEN YOU SHOULD ATTEND THIS CAMP.

This one day camp (but two are better!) is focused on Boomer’s theories of working with the water in underwater swimming, starts and turns. We focus on efficiency, not sheer power, and on conserving energy by increasing efficiency. We teach swimmers how to generate speed off the wall by reshaping the body. We will work on proper balance in the water, swimming long, and generating power with the hips and torso - performing  correct undulation.

Experience has taught us that swimmers need a minimum of two days of this camp to gain the most benefit - but one day is better than none!

We are a day camp from 9:00 - 4:00.  Lunch and snacks are provided.

Choose at least 2 dates if you can:

  • June 9
  • June 16
  • June 23
The cost for each session (day) is $90.

The camp is open to swimmers who are at least 9 years of age by February, 2017.   We offer a very low swimmer to instructor ratio.
